Does a root canal hurt?
No. With modern local anesthesia, the treatment itself is painless — most patients say it feels like getting a normal filling. In fact, a root canal removes the source of your pain. Mild soreness for a day or two afterward is normal and goes away with a simple painkiller.
How many visits will it take?
Usually 2–3 visits of 30–45 minutes each. Simple cases on front teeth can sometimes be finished in a single visit. We will tell you the exact plan after your first examination.
How much does it cost?
৳4,000 to ৳8,000 per tooth, depending on which tooth needs treatment. This includes the X-ray, anesthesia, all visits, and the final filling. A protective crown, if needed, is priced separately — and we tell you everything before starting.
Can I eat normally afterward?
Yes. Wait until the numbness wears off (2–3 hours), then eat soft food on the other side for the first day. Once your final filling or crown is placed, you can eat everything normally — including hard foods.
Is it better to just remove the tooth?
In most cases, no. Saving your natural tooth is almost always better — it keeps your bite strong and avoids the higher cost of an implant or bridge later. We only recommend extraction when a tooth truly cannot be saved, and we will always tell you honestly.
